Starlyn Stout is a writer and educator based in Snohomish County, Washington. She is mother to four human children, two dogs, six chickens and a cat. Born in Las Vegas, NV and raised in Burbank, CA, Starlyn spent ten years as a commissioned officer in the Utah Army National Guard after earning her BA in History with a minor in Military Science from Utah State University. She earned her MA in Secondary Teaching from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, taught US History and coached Speech and Debate, Mock Trial and Model UN before moving to Washington in 2015.

Starlyn enjoys an eclectic variety of music, which is always playing. She enjoys watching movies and TV with her husband and kids, running, engaging in mind-altering conversations, and embedding herself in a sea of strangers. As a storyteller, she thrives on discovering engaging people and places.
